Christmas Looks to Cheer You Up in 2020
Only two more sleeps until Christmas ladies. Although the disappointments that Tier 4 brought to us all, let's not forget to take care of ourselves and still look good this holiday season.
Whether you are staying at home or had the chance to escape somewhere else warm, here are the Christmas classics that never go out of style. Don't forget you can watch makeup classes via our app and learn how to replicate the looks below!
The “classic” Christmas look:
A subtle eyeliner and a bold red (any undertone) is a classic when it comes to Christmas make up. This is our go to as usually with a sequinned or over the top Christmas outfit this is enough to compliment it.
Hair: Lose waves or straight hair honestly goes best with a classic look.
Pair the makeup with either sequinned or glittery trousers/dress, black or nude heels and a chic top/blazer.
The good thing about adding an outfit with some sparkle is that you are automatically into a party mood once you put it on. You can also pair the makeup with a sleek straight hair (use a heat protector before doing this style with a straightener!), glamorous earring and comfy shoes as you are staying at home anyway!
Favourite Reds to try it right now: MAC Chilli, YSL Rouge Pur, Pat Mcgrath Labs - Elson
The Green Christmas Look:
We have noticed that more and more people are coming out of their comfort zone and we are here for it! In 2020, khaki and full mint green eyeshadow palettes made an appearance and why not try that during this Christmas? Olive & green tones are absolutely stunning as you can add any shimmer or glitter on top of it! Pair that with a beautiful nude or lipgloss and you have a completed look. This is perfect for those wanting to try something different and will also really enhance blue and brown eyes.
Balance it out:
An elegant black or navy jumpsuit is what we believe will look amazing with an olive/green tone make up and ponytail. Black goes with everything and it also does wonders for a last minute look. Although super elegant, your green eyeshadow will bring all the attention to your eyes so we suggest balancing the look with a more plain outfit.
Must have for your green makeup: My Beauty Squad Boss Lashes, Charlotte Tilbury Khaki Quads, MAC gold pigment.
The Goddess Christmas Look:
We are big fans of gold as we believe it goes with anything including a red dress! It brings a natural glow to all skin types and skin tones whilst looking absolutely flawless. Match this with a mauve, pink or a nude lip. The secret to achieve a 'glowy' skin tone starts with preparation, use a liquid highlighter mixed with your foundation and enhance your eyes by applying a concealer all over the lid before adding the gold.
Get in the naughty list:
If you like to make an entrance (who doesn't?) pair this makeup with a beautiful satin red dress. Nothing will make your look more christmassy than a bright red that will enhance your nude makeup look.
Gold palettes we love: Anastasia Beverly Hills x Carly Bybel, Huda Beauty Cult Beauty Palette, Morphe 35G Palette
